  1. Spongebob Squarepants Although it started in 1999, the popularity of Spongebob peaked in the early 2000’s. It featured Spongebob and is aquatic friends Patrick, Squidward, Sandy, Mr. Krabs, and Gary. The show changed the ideas of the nation’s youth. Television American Idol Debuting in 2002, it immediately became a hit. Host Ryan Seacrest, and judges Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson and Paula Abdul made the show’s popularity soar through the roof. The show has created many music stars, such as Chris Daughtry and Carrie Underwood. The show changed the decade because it started a huge outbreak of “singing” shows.

  2. Movie Napoleon Dynamite Originally released in limited theaters in mid 2004. Later in the year, it had a wide release. The movie featured Jon Heder as Napoleon Dynamite, a goofy high school student who is in the pursuit of finding chicks to go to the dance with him. Although there is no obvious point to the movie, it was very popular among teenagers and even adults. There are also many popular clothes and quotes from the movie. This movie changed the language of the nation’s youth and teenagers.
