Improve public education and awareness re crime • 2. Increase visits to communities, including churches • 3. Creating & Strengthening partnership w/community leaders • 4. Dev. Programs to address youth issues • 5. Strengthen partnership w/other law enforcement agencies & Dept. to reduce Crime • 6. Establishing co-ordination for crime prevention & community safety initiative • 1.Ensure operational police have sufficient resources • 2. Increasing & targeting police patrols • 3.   17. Department of Public Safety • Conclusion: • Tremendous change have taken place in Pohnpei. The need to address specialized areas to investigate cases have taken place. Workload have been double due to the need to have officer undergo specialized trainings. • The number of officers remains the same.
