Despite this, providing essential services and eradicating poverty are feasible, making corruption the main obstacle.   2. Each year over US$ 1 Trillion* goes missing from the global economy through bribes, dishonest deals and tax evasion. It’s called corruption.Corruption is more than bad business: it kills people.

  3. YET… Providing malaria prevention to the developing world would only cost $4.2 billion.

  4. YET… A year’s supply of life-saving medical services in low income countries would only cost $25 billion.

  5. YET… The cost of eradicating Global Poverty is only 1% of Global Income.

  6. You cannot eradicate systemic poverty, unless you eradicate systemic corruption.

The economic impact of the ‘weapon of mass destruction’ • Extracts resources from economy • No investment in future – steals from next generations • Inefficient allocation of resources • Artificial high prices and low quality of products and services • Increased uneven distribution of wealth • Low technological advancement • Low attraction of foreign investment and trade • Low quality education, healthcare and other essential services

  10. 3 Questions • Why do I live in a country that claims to be +70% Christian and yet does not have Christian culture prevailing? • Why do you live on a continent that has vast resources (natural and human) and yet is the begging bowl of the world largely surviving on foreign aid? • Why is Africa the most evangelised continent and yet shows no evidence of societal transformation that should be consistent with the prevalence of the truth of the bible?
