INTRODUCTION Kosciuszko National Park covers 690,000 hectares and contains mainland Australia's highest peak, Mount Kosciuszko and Cabramurra the highest town in Australia.  Its borders contain a mix of rugged mountains and wilderness, with an alpine climate, which makes it popular with recreational skiers and bushwalkers. In the summer the national park is good for horse riding and biking.

  3. MAP OFKOSCIUSZKO NATIONAL PARK This the map of Kosciuszko National Park. Right in the centre of the map is Mt Kosciuszko.

  4. MT KOSCUISZKO Mount Kosciuszko is located in the Snowy Mountains in Kosciuszko National Park. With a height of 2,228 metres above sea level it is Australia’s biggest mountain. It was named by a Polish explorer called Count Paul Edmund Strzelecki in 1840,  in honour of the Polish national hero and hero of the American Revolutionary War General TadeuszKościuszko.

  5. SKI RESORTS Perisher Blue Perisher Blue is the largest ski resort in the southern hemisphere. It is located in the Snowy Mountain consisting of four villages, Perisher Valley, Smiggin Holes, Guthega, and Blue Cow.

  6. SKI RESORTS Thredbo Village Thredbo Village is in the Snowy Mountains. It is about 500 kilometres south of Sydney, accessible by the Alpine Way via Cooma, Berridale and Jindabyne.

  7. SUMMER SPORTS Horse Riding Horse riding in the Kosciuszko National Park is wonderful. I think the best thing is the view. It is a view of lonely, rugged mountains, it is beautiful.

  8. ANIMALS Corroboree Frog The Corroboree frogs are two species of small, ground dwelling frogs, native to Southern Tablelands of Australia. The two species are the called the SouthernCorroboree Frog and the Northern Corroboree Frog. Northern Corroboree Frog Southern Corroboree Frog

  9. ANIMALS Mountain Pygmy Possum The mountain pygmy possum is a small, mouse- sized nocturnal marsupial  of Australia found in dense alpine rock areas and boulder fields, mainly in southern Victoria and around Mount Kosciuszko in Kosciuszko National Park.

  10. FLORA Snow Gum and Chinese Elm The Snow Gum  is a small tree or large shrub native to eastern Australia. The bottom picture is the Chinese Elm. It  is a species also native to China, Japan, North Korea and Vietnam.
