Definite Article—refers to something specific In English, we have one word = the In Spanish there are 4 words for the definite article—el, los, la, las el = the  masculine singular los = the  masculine plural la = the  feminine singular las = the feminine plural Por Ejemplo: El chico es simpático. Los chicos son simpáticos. La profesora es simpática. Las profesoras son simpáticas.

Indefinite Articles—-In English = a/an; some (for plural) –refers to something non-specific -In Spanish, there are 4 forms of indefinite articles: un= a, an (masc.sing.) unos=some (masc.plural) una= a, an (fem.sing.) unas=some (fem. plural Ex- una carpeta un lápiz unos libros unas carpetas -a folder -a pencil -some books -some folders

  4. Word Order: Placement of Adjectives In Spanish, adjectives usually come AFTER the noun they describe. Follow this pattern: Ex. Elena es unachicasimpática. Elena is anicegirl. Margarita esunachica sociable. Yo soy un chicoperezoso. Jorge y Felipe son chicossimpáticos.
