What is PMI / PMIWIC? • Project Management Institute (PMI) • One of the world's largest NFP professional membership associations • >500,000 members, 185 countries • Advance the project management profession • Standards and certifications, collaborative communities, research, professional development • Project Management Institute – Western Idaho Chapter (PMIWIC) • Local PMI chapter, >300 members • Advance the practice and profession of project management • Recognized local source of project management knowledge and expertise

NFP Roles & Expectations • Sponsor and leadership support of project • Responsible & accountable for project work • Provide all project resources (staff & funding & leadership) • Perform and completes all project work & “homework” • Staff trained with project management skills • Receive training documentation for future use • Successful project completion

  9. PMIWIC Roles & Expectations • Provide PMP certified or PMP certified equivalents facilitators / mentors • Provide training, expertise and guidance • Available for mentorship / coaching / advice throughout project & post-project • Provide project management support as needed throughout project

  10. What Do We Provide? • Staff Training • Minimum 8 hours of formal instruction • PMP Certified or PMP certified equivalent facilitators • Training Materials • Training manuals and presentations provided • Can be used for internal training of future staff • Mentoring • Minimum 10 hours • PMP certified or PMP certified equivalent • Advice / guidance throughout project duration

Next Steps • NFP • Complete & submit PMNOP • PMIWIC Community Outreach Team • Review submitted PMNOPs • Make final selection of initial nonprofit • Provide selection results to all nonprofits • Schedule & set-up next meeting • Post PMNOP Selection • Finalize PMNOP with selected nonprofit • Schedule & set-up next meeting
