  1. Week of September 1-5 Wow! September already? With the start of school comes more sickness and absences. If your students is feeling under the weather please be sure they are keeping up with missing work and are ready to learn when they come back to school. Mrs. Castillo’s Fourth grade Class Every night, homework will be written in the agenda. I will try every day to give students time in class to start homework. Students are expected to read 20 or more minutes every night. If you need to contact me please send an email or a note. This week you can look forward to: Science: This week will be completing 2 experiments to test force and friction (4.2) Math: This week we will finish our Place and Value unit with comparing and there will be a unit test towards the end of the week. Expect a study guide on Tuesday. Reading: We will continue making predictions within a realistic fiction text.(4.5i) Writing: This week our writing prompt will be “Imagine one day at school you are allowed to create a rule for students to follow.”. Writing this nine weeks will focus on narrative. VA Studies: We have covered Virginia’s boarders and regions, now we will move on to rivers. VS.2a, b, c Reminders: Students may correct any class work or homework assignment to receive more credit. Upcoming Dates: September 1: Labor Day- No school September 9: Fundraisers due September 12: Interim Reports September 16: DARE begins September 18: Conferences
