  1. Week of September 17th • Mrs. Grandon – Room 116 • Phonics – short a and I, word families • Math – Fact families, missing addends and problem solving strategies. Test on Wednesday or Thursday • Reading – “Mr. Putter and Tabby Pour Tea.” Story maps, beginning, middle, ending, setting and plot. Flexible reading groups start this week. • English/Writer’s Workshop – Writing complete and various sentence types.English test on Chapter one Wednesday • Science – phases of the moon and seasons • Handwriting – Upper and Lower Case Ff and Gg Spelling Words: bring grade brave ground break stand brother state stick sweet great swing Bonus Words: brushed grain staring Vocabulary Words: delighted enjoyed share thinning wonderful Reminders: www.panthercountry.org (Just click on Online classrooms and find our room.) Spelling lists, newsletters, homework, test dates and photos are posted on Panthercountry. Don’t forget to practice those math facts and read nightly. Please check and sign planners nightly. Some new items can be added daily. Walking Club starts on Monday. Don’t hesitate to ask questions at any time. Nolley has a Twitter account for latest news and updates. Accomplishments: I’ve seen a great deal of improvement with students’ timed tests. Their efforts are showing! Ben Walker did a great job as our Star Student this week! Annabelle is next week. Ask your child about our marble jar of kind deeds. It is emptying quickly.
