  24. Truth in Advertising • We aren’t going to do this. • The idea was on the internet • After it went viral, the developers confessed that it was not real. • People were trying it, because… • If it is on the Internet, it must be real! • Believe half of what you see.

  25. 2014 CHALLENGE • Solar Cooker Design • The ES 1000 Engineering Challenge for 2014 is for teams of students to design and test a solar cooker. • We will test with both artificial light and true sunlight (provided the sun is out in Laramie on October 11th!)

  26. 2014 CHALLENGE (cont) • How much heat can 8 ounces of water absorb in 30 minutes? • The oven must include a method to adjust its angle toward the light source while keeping the jar of water level. • Design notebook must be kept and turned in on the day of the challenge. • More details will be given in class.
