Who we are - Brief History • 2008 A Group of Healthcare manufacturing companies came together to form the CLHEG with the aim of • cooperating on competitiveness issues and specifically Energy • Our Collective Contribution to the local economy • Employment - 4,000 employees (Direct and Indirect) • Investment - €2.272 billion • Annual site operational Budgets - €334m • Annual Salary Spend - €131m • Annual Energy Cost - €21.5m

Our Proposal to meet the Challenge • Generate electricity from Wind • Wind energy resource data collection commenced in Oct 2008 • IDA sustainability study completed for the Lower Harbour • Recommends Wind as the most feasible manner of sustainable generation • Six Turbines generating 18mW of energy • Improved competitiveness by reducing and Hedging Energy Costs • Reduces CO2 emissions by 20K Tons • Wind Turbine Investment – Circa €30m • Public Consultation sessions complete • Planning Application to be submitted in April 2011

Our Experience to date! • Very positive reception by all stakeholders • Seen as the right thing to do! • Regulatory environment needs to be updated to consider and embrace new technologies in a timely way demonstrating Ireland is very much “Open for Business” • The cross company collaboration recognised as a Best Practice.
