  3. Mandate • Advise RI President & Board on YE policy matters • Organize the YE Pre-Convention Meeting • Not responsible for YE programme management!

  5. One Way Exchanges • Nov 2010 RI Board Meeting: • Enables and promotes certification of districts for participation in outbound YE only • Encourages exchange partners to provide financial assistance

  6. One Way Exchanges • Nov 2010 RI Board Meeting: • Asks TRF to consider enabling DSG and Future Vision Grants for student travel funding. TRF decision pending • Only for needy from developing countries & not for Rotary families

  7. One Way Exchanges • Promotional letters recently sent to non-certified districts in under represented areas, multi-district leaders and regional group leaders • Revised outbound-only certification application forms now available

  8. Application Forms • RI now recognizes that YEOs are best qualified to develop and own these documents • After minor amendments, RI will encourage use of forms developed by NAYEN and EEMA and accessed through YEOResources

  9. Application Forms • RI will continue to offer the traditional Long Term form in other languages • EEMA now proposing to split their STEP form into three essentially identical STEP, NGE and Camp versions

  10. Insurance • Nov 2010 RI Board Meeting: • Did not agree to mandatory global insurance policy • Encouraged districts to develop and participate in a voluntary global insurance policy and discuss at New Orleans

  11. Insurance • Current insurance concerns include: • Lack of door-to-door coverage • Inconsistent guidance regarding minimum coverage • Coverage agreement between host and sponsor districts • Students paying double premiums

  12. Insurance • Voluntary global policy challenges: • Ensure better and competitive cover • Ensure commercial viability

  13. Insurance • Working Group Chair Peter Kaye will: • Restructure working group with insurance industry professionals • Focus on existing technical issues with a view to developing enhanced insurance standards for consideration and, hopefully, adoption by RI

  14. Insurance • Working Group Chair Peter Kaye will: • Arrange a stakeholder meeting in New Orleans to present and discuss findings • This meeting scheduled for Thursday afternoon May 19th - immediately prior to the Opening Reception

  15. Quality Assurance Manual • QA Manual is still at the draft stage • Working Group Leader Walter Wyser has retired from YE • Now looking for volunteers to complete the document

  16. Committee Status • President-Elect Kalyan Banerjee has confirmed that he will appoint a YE Committee next year
