  1. President’s Report 2010-2011 West Kildonan Collegiate October 21, 2011

  2. Mentorship Program (Revitalization Grant) • Offered to beginner and veteran teachers of Basic French • 22 teachers (16 mentees and 6 mentors) met on three separate occasions during the year for professional development on topics including: • Make and Take session (November , 2010 and January 2011) • 2 Day PD day on strategies, resources and cultural activities (April 2011) • Cost incurred by program were paid by AMPF/ MATF. Included sub costs, mileage for out of town participants and health breaks and lunch

  3. Apprendre en faisant (Revitalization Grant) • Full day conference of hands on workshops for Grade 9 and Grade 10 students. • Held at The Shriner’s Conference Center on April 27, 2011 • 374 students participated • 6 rural and 4 urban school divisions • Workshops held on a number of topics: • Chocolate making • Yoga • Dancing • Drama • Drumming

  4. Bursary /Scholarship Award to a graduating Basic French Grade 12 student • This past year’s recipient was Sarah Fehr • Scholarship was for $500.00 in recognition of her efforts in the high school program. • Criteria for selection: • Student achieved a high academic average in French. • Student contributed to the French ambiance in his/her respective class. • Student demonstrated leadership and a keen interest in learning the French language. • Student will continue his/her French language studies in a post secondary institution.

  5. Basic French Certificates for Graduating Grade 12 Students MATF/AMPF offered 450 certificates to 24 schools across the province of Manitoba. Request for certificates was available on MATF/AMPF Web site (www.matf.ca).
