2. Major Characters • Christopher John Francis Boone – Main Character • Ed Boone- Christopher’s father whom Christopher lives. Kills Wellington • Judy Boone- Christopher’s mother. Lives in London. • Mr. Shears- Lives with Christopher’s mother. • Mrs/Miss Shears- Neighbor of Christophers. Owner of Wellington. • Siobhan- Christopher’s special teacher. • Mrs. Alexander- Another neighbor of Christophers. Tells Christopher about his mothers affair with Mr. Shears.

3. Basic Plot • Christopher discovers the dead body of Wellington in Miss Shear’s yard stuck by a garden fork, and decides to investigate. Christopher writes his experiences in a book, titled The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time. • He talks to neighbors along the way about Wellington and talked to Mrs. Alexander. She tells him that Mr. Shears, who used to live in the house across the street had an affair with his mother whom he believed had died of a heart attack three years ago. Christopher’s dad finds his book, read the section about the affair and forbids him to continue writing. • While searching for the book, Christopher discovers a series of letters from his mother which his father had also concealed. They were dated after he thought she had died. He concludes that she is still alive and that his father had lied to him. Christopher’s dad admits hiding the death of his mother and that he killed Wellington because he was mad at Miss Shears and his former wife. Christopher then fears that his father may try to kill him and so he runs away to London and life with his mother.

4. Plot II • He finds his mother and spends a few days with her before his father finds him. It is decided that Christopher will move back with his mother so that he can do A level math. Christopher lives with both of his parents for a little while and then moves into an apartment with his mother a few blocks away from his old house.
