  4. Federal Affairs: • Clean Water Act • Anti Turfgrass Sentiments • Water Reuse Guidelines

  5. State Affairs: • CaliforniaWater Conservation Act • North Carolina bill to reduce household water use to 45 gallons a day by 2035 (Currently a U.S. family of four averages 400 gallons a day.)

  6. State Affairs: • Rain interruption device legislation: Indiana, Massachusetts • Licensing and registration bills: New York, Florida, Virginia, Pennsylvania • Massachusettsirrigation contractor registration bill • Illinois irrigation licensing expires in 2013

  7. Standards and Codes: • ICC has 3 standards in progress • Landscape emission devices (sprinkler & drip) • Controllers • Rain sensors • ASABE has 3 standards in progress • Landscape water budget methodology • Smart controller testing protocol • Auditing guidelines and procedures
