  9. Main Objective • Provide a better understanding of the EU as a complex, multi-level evolving geographical system, taking duly into account the dynamic processes occurring within such a system and to develop improved strategies

Workingprogramme • First year: assessment of the literature, preliminary work on theoreticalmodels and 1st stage preparation of mathematical, computational and econometrictools; • Second year: building more sophisticated models, 2nd stage preparation of mathematical, computational and econometrictools; • Third year: integration of resultsoriginated from differentlines of research; policy design and evaluations; • Forthyear: validation of results via calibrationexcercises and empiricalanalyses.
