THE ANZACS. Information by Tiarna Marsh. Food Rations. Most of the food they ate was rationed and the soldiers never had time to eat. Most of the soldiers were starving because of the amount of food they had when they had time. Here are some of the things they ate: Bully beef (canned in pack)

  2. Food Rations Most of the food they ate was rationed and the soldiers never had time to eat. Most of the soldiers were starving because of the amount of food they had when they had time. Here are some of the things they ate: • Bully beef (canned in pack) • Hard cookies (found in the ship) • Tea • Sugar • ANZAC COOKIES (mainly received by mothers, wives and girlfriends of the soldiers)

  4. War Songs • The Last Post is well known and on ANZAC Day it is played. • And The Band Played Waltzing Matilda is another well known song and played to remember the ANZAC’s.

  5. War Memorials • War memorials are found all over the world. • Most war memorials will have gates with a plaque on them saying about the soldiers. • War memorials are used to lay down reefs on ANZAC Day. • Every ANZAC Day people will march to the war memorial in there town.

  6. Poppies • Poppies grow in a lot of Europe in France. • Poppies can be white, yellow, pink, orange or red. • Poppies are worn on ANZAC Day because in France there is a place called Flanders where soldiers who died got buried,
