  3. Task at Hand Now that you have some knowledge about Botany let’s get some Plant Life Cycle Knowledge into your head!!! Because if you’re going to be a botanist you have got to know your stuff!! • Identify and Label Parts of a Plant • List and Describe the 5 Stages of the Plant Life Cycle - Create a Picture of a plant’s life cycle, of your choice, and label all the different parts correctly

  4. Let’s Start with some Basics! • Plant Structure and Nutrition • Flower • Root • Stem • Leaf Explore this site from left to right until you find these Five terms and write their explanations on a separate piece of paper. Basics?? I don’t need no Basics!!

  5. Say What?!? How many Stages? There are 5 stages to the Plant Life Cycle. But, I have no idea what they are. Please, please, please help me to know what the 5 stages of the Plant Life Cycle are!!! Click for Stages of Plant Life Read the stages and write a definition in your own words so YOU can remember it. Try the quiz once you think you are ready.

  6. Let’s Get a Little Artsy!! By this point in your Quest for Knowledge about Botany and the Plant Life Cycle you should be able to draw, color, and label your own diagram of a plant or flower’s life cycle. Be Creative, Mix & Match Colors, Pick ANY Plant I am mainly concerned with Correct Labeling!! This is what the labeled plant cycle should look like (IF YOU LOOK HERE FIRST, I WILL KNOW!!!!)

  9. Teacher Page By: Matt Kennedy This WebQuest demonstrates a good foundation on the Life Cycle of a Plant. This WebQuest is designed for 3rd grade students. The main curriculum content area is Science. However, Language Arts, Visual Arts, and Technology are Integrated into it as well.

NJ Core Curriculum Content Standards Science 5.1.4.B.4 Communicates and justify explanations with reasonable logic and arguments. 5.3.2.D.1 Record the observable characteristics of plants and animals to determine the similarities and differences between parents and their offspring. 5.3.2.D.2 Determine the characteristic changes that occur during the life cycle of plants and animals by examining a variety of species, and distinguish between growth and development. Visual Arts 1.3.2.D.5 Create works of art that are based on observations of the physical world and that illustrate how art is part of everyday life, using a variety of art mediums and art media.
