Program Benefits • Cohort Model/ Immersion Housing Environment • foster group cohesion • enhance cultural learning • bridge gap between Russian and American educational systems • promote language learning • Russian Across the Curriculum Coursework • allows access to wider range of perspectives • reinforces learning in University Studies courses • enhances Russian language and culture skills

  4. Research Questions To what extent do specific Russian Flagship program features (i.e., RAC courses, cohort model, immersion housing) help participants to: • acquire superior level Russian language proficiency? • become globally and interculturally aware? • succeed academically?

  5. Assessment • Intake and exit surveys (based on SPIF, PSU’s University Studies Survey) • Face-to-face interviews Classroom observations • Periodic language proficiency assessment • E-portfolios, also using ACE/FIPSE rubrics
