North FEE Schedule • Assume installation in 2002 shutdown, June-October(?), gives 1.5 years to complete pre-installation work • Given uncertainty in future shutdowns and desire to allow longer delivery times to maintain costs, want to start as much of FEE work now as possible, and do as much advance work as possible • Previous estimate was that installation would require ~2 months, assuming all assembly and testing was done PRIOR to shutdown

North FEE Work Status • FEMs: • chassis --Design complete, money transfer to NSMU for fab underway, Greg Moran expects to start fab in January • CROC • Control Boards Albert will give • Backplanes • Copper<-->Fiber translators -- SOW submitted to purchase in route to LANL. Greg Hart has agreed to take care of ordering parts, boards (again). Already looking into alternatives for very poorly constructed cables. • Calibration system -- SOW submitted to purchase in route to LANL. M. Leitch, P. McGaughey will oversee • LV Distribution -- SOW for purchase at UNM submitted • Slow Controls -- Will probably buy modules through BNL • Mechanical support structure -- Design work underway. Expect to be completed in January. Design will then go to NMSU for fab. Money for fab already in route to NMSU. • Rack Layout and Int.-- Will look at with Jan soon • Cable layout-- LANL • FEM Assembly into CRAs -- French? • FEE Installation -- Everyone }
