  2. What is EconoME? • It is a way to…… • Earn (not real) money in the classroom. • Spend money. • Earn responsibility. • Practice real life situations • AND HAVE FUN!

  3. How can I earn money? • Earn money each day for good behavior. • Turn in your weekly pay sheet with reading log. • Must have a parent signature in order to get paid. • Due every Friday…if late…no pay! If absent bring it the day you return. • Get paid for your job. • This will help pay for rent, disasters, barter days, items at the store, and grade activities.

  4. Job 1- Your first job! • This is a mandatory job for everyone! • Requirements…… • Have quality work • Maintain a 2 average (Grades and citizenship) • 0-2 tardies • NO penalty tickets Must maintain this in order to have any other jobs.

  5. What is citizenship? • Getting along with others • Finishes and turns work in on time • Follows directions • Stays on task • Listen attentively

  6. Job 2- applied for Job 3- Elected You must fill out an application and will be considered by the elected cabinet. Some of the positions are: • Banker • Store Manager • Custodian • Librarian • Display Manager • And many more…check your room for details. • You will prepare a 1 minute speech for your class. • Class will vote for their top 3 choices. • Teacher will count votes and assign the positions. • The positions are: President, Vice President, Speaker of the House, Secretary, Chief Justice. Grades Chart • Money for grades – Weber portal. www.weber.k12.ut.us • 4’s are worth 4 dollars. • 3’s are worth 3 dollars. • 2’s are worth 2 dollars. • 1’s are worth 0! • Everyday start out with 3 dollars. • Your behavior decides where you end up at the end of the day. • How to keep your 3 dollars! Your Jobs!

A review of ConsequencesWhen you have lost your money for the day you will have….. 1- Conference time • Meet with the teacher • in class think time 2- a penalty ticket… • Think time (outside of class) • $25 fine • probation period 3- a loss of everything • Community Service- 30 min worth • $50 fine • Fired from job

  11. Rewards and Fun! Barter days- Bring items to trade and barter with! Store- Once a week purchase items. Monthly party- Planned by President and Vice President of each class. This celebration costs money. All Done, Have fun! End of quarter celebration. These celebrations are for accomplishing Job 1. You must have all Work completed!!!
