  2. I will pay attention and not disrupt class. • It helps others pay attention. • It helps save time. • It encourages a positive and respectful class. • It shows that my goal is to learn. • It shows respect for other people’s right to learn.

Talking Etiquette • I will raise my hand quietly to request permission to address the class. • I will talk in a low voice when: • Working in groups • Waiting for the teacher to address the class • Having free time • I will not talk when: • others are speaking or presenting to the class. • Announcements are made over the loud speaker. • Someone is on the school phone. • I or others are taking a test/quiz • During quiet “think time” • Agenda is being copied or during bell work

  4. I will come to class prepared. • It helps save time instead of wasting it. • It shows that I want to succeed. • It helps me complete my assignments on time.

  5. Permission - DNA “DNA” Rules:I donot need to ask permission to: *get scratch paper *borrow a ruler *sharpen pencil (only one up at a time) *throw away garbage *borrow a textbook or get my notebookBUT IT MUST BE DONE WITHOUT DISRUPTING OTHERS or THEIR PROPERTY!

  6. Permission – ASK/GET! I do need to ask permission to: *get other supplies from the side bookshelf *use the computers *get forms *get something from my file *go to bathroom/water *library book

  7. Permission – ASK/Teacher gets I do need to ask permission and wait for the teacher to bring me: *special supplies from the cabinet *band-aids *anything from the teacher’s desk

  8. I will follow directions when I am told. • It makes class flow smoothly. • It helps save time. • It encourages a positive and respectful class. • It shows respect for other people’s right to learn.

  9. I will work diligently and not waste time. • It helps save time. • It allows for more time to ask questions when I don’t understand. • It helps the class have more time for learning.

  10. I will respect other peoples’ property • It encourages a positive and respectful class. • It shows respect for other people’s right to learn. • I want my own personal property to be respected.

  11. I will address others with the proper tone of voice and respect • It encourages a positive and safe class. • It shows respect for other people’s right to learn. • It shows how everyone is important. • It shows off my good qualities and my self-respect.
