  2. Your Career Center • Because your job stakes are so high, the Career Center Staff have assisted faculty in creating 2 unique educational programs designed to help you get started on the road to employment. • Professional Career Development • Career Search Strategies

  3. Career Center Three-Fold Goals • To aid you in determining your professional career goals. • To help you develop a plan for achieving your career goals. • To assist you in implementing yourplan and in obtaining a professional position commensurate with your goals, interests, and training.

  4. Career Projects The career projects in the career development courses are designed to assist you in achieving your career goals. The career center staff will assist you in developing your career projects but not participate in the actual grading process. You may upload your career projects onto the career center website if appropriate to share with potential employers.

  5. Student Evaluation of eProjects • 99% found eProject “upload directions” easy to understand. • 78% did not experience any problems with uploading a project. • Of those experiencing a problem, 14% experienced them from a home computer.

  6. Professional Career Development Course • Guides beginning students through self-assessments and career explorations and assists you in setting short- and long-term goals. • Regular credit hour course • Course serves as a vehicle for discovery and professional career preparation. • Designed and taught by University faculty • Teaching assistance by Career Center staff

Professional Career Development Course • Course introduces you to the process of career planning. • Calls for you to make several tentative academic and career decisions based on the yourself-assessment projects and personal professional career interests. • Aids in preparing you for the transition from college student to professional employee.

  9. Grading for Career Classes • Based on a Point Accumulation System • You accumulate points in two ways: • Attending class sessions • - Submitting passing projects.

  10. Written projects are designed to draw upon your communication skills and help you develop these skills through practice and application while exploring career-related issues.
