  1. Phase E: Opportunities & Solutions

  2. Phase E : Opportunities and solutions -Objectives Generate the initial complete version of the Architecture Roadmap, based upon the gap analysis and candidate Architecture Roadmap components from Phases B, C, and D Determine whether an incremental approach is required, and if so identify Transition Architectures that will deliver continuous business value

  3. Phase E :Opportunities and solutions - Approach • The is the first phase considering implementation and Migration Plan which is completed in Phase F. • It takes into account the complete set of gaps between the Target and Baseline Architectures in all architecture domains, • It logically groups changes into work packages • It builds a best-fit roadmap based upon: • Stakeholder requirements • the enterprise's business transformation readiness, • Identified opportunities and solutions, • Identified implementation constraints.

  4. Phase E :Opportunities and solutions - Approach • The key is to focus on the final target while realizing incremental business value. • The following four concepts are key to transitioning from developing to delivering a Target Architecture: • Architecture Roadmap • Work Packages • Transition Architectures • Implementation and Migration Plan

  5. Phase E :Opportunities and solutions - Inputs • Request for Architecture Work • Product information • Capability Assessment • Planning methodology • Governance models and framework • Tailored Architecture Framework • Statement of Architecture Work • Architecture Repository  • Architecture Vision • Draft Architecture Definition Document • Draft Architecture Requirements Specification • Change requests for existing programs and projects • Candidate Roadmap components from phases B,C and D

  6. Phase E :Opportunities and solutions - Steps • Determine Corporate Change Attributes • Implementation Factor Assessment and Deduction matrix • Determine Business Constraints for Implementation • Review and Consolidate Gap Analysis Results from Phases B to D • Consolidated Gaps, Solutions, and Dependencies matrix • Review Consolidated Requirements Across Related Business Functions

  7. Implementation Factor Assessment & Deduction Matrix

  8. Consolidated Gaps, Solutions, & Dependencies Matrix

  9. Phase E :Opportunities and solutions - Steps 5. Consolidate and Reconcile Interoperability Requirements 6. Refine and Validate Dependencies 7. Confirm Readiness and Risk for Business Transformation 8. Formulate Implementation and Migration Strategy

  10. Phase E :Opportunities and solutions - Steps 9. Identify and Group Major Work Packages 10. Identify Transition Architectures 11. Create the Architecture Roadmap & Implementation and Migration Plan

  11. Phase E :Opportunities and solutions - Outputs • Statement of Architecture work • Architecture vision • Draft Architecture Definition Document : • Transitions Architectures, if any. • Draft Architecture Requirement Specifications • Consolidated gaps ,Solutions and dependencies assessments • Architecture Roadmap • Work package portfolio • Transition architectures, if any • Implementation and migration strategy(outline)

  12. Phase F:Migration planning - Objectives Finalize the Architecture Roadmap and the supporting Implementation and Migration Plan Ensure that the Implementation and Migration Plan is coordinated with the enterprise's approach to managing and implementing change in the enterprise's overall change portfolio Ensure that the business value and cost of work packages and Transition Architectures is understood by key stakeholders

  13. Phase F: Migration planning - approach • The focus is creation of an Implementation and Migration Plan in co-operation with project and portfolio managers. • Activities include assessing the dependencies, costs, and benefits of the various migration projects within the context of the enterprise's other activity.

  14. Phase F: Migration planning - Inputs • Request for Architecture Work • Organizational Model for Enterprise Architecture • Governance models and frameworks • Tailored Architecture Framework • Statement of Architecture Work • Architecture Vision • Architecture Repository • Capability Assessment

  15. Phase F: Migration planning - Inputs • Draft Architecture Definition Document • Transition Architectures, if any • Draft Architecture Requirements Specification  • Change Requests for existing business programs and projects • Architecture Roadmap, Version 0.1 • Identification of work packages • Identification of Transition Architectures • Implementation Factor Assessment and Deduction Matrix • Implementation and Migration Plan, Version 0.1

  16. Phase F:Migration planning-steps Confirm Management Framework Interactions for the Implementation and Migration Plan Assign a Business Value to Each Work Package Estimate Resource Requirements, Project Timings, and Availability/Delivery Vehicle Prioritize the Migration Projects through the Conduct of a Cost/Benefit Assessment and Risk Validation

  17. Phase F:Migration planning-steps 5. Confirm Architecture Roadmap and Update Architecture Definition Document • Transition Architecture State Evolution Table 6. Generate the Implementation and Migration Plan 7. Complete the Architecture Development Cycle and Document Lessons Learned

  18. Transition Architecture State Evolution Table

  19. Phase F: Migration planning-Outputs • Implementation and Migration Plan (detailed) • FinalizedArchitecture Definition Document • Finalized Transition Architectures • Finalized Architecture Requirements Specification • Finalized Architecture Roadmap • Re-Usable Architecture Building Blocks • Requests for Architecture Work for a new iteration of the ADM cycle (if any) • Implementation Governance Model • Change Requests
