1. The Solar System • The solar system has 8 planets. • There is also 1 dwarf planet.

2. SUN • The sun is a star. • The sun is very hot. • The sun provides energy, heat, and light to Earth.

3. MERCURY • Mercury is about the size of Earth’s moon. • It is a small, rocky planet. • Mercury is covered with craters.

4. VENUS • Because Venus is so close to the Earth, it appears as the brightest planet in the night sky.

5. EARTH • The Earth's temperature, weather, atmosphere and many other factors are just right to keep us alive.

6. MARS • MARS is a fiery red color from Earth . • Mars is called the red planet. • Mars comes before the planet Jupiter.

7. THE ASTEROID BELT • The asteroid belt is between Mars and Jupiter. • There are about 7,000 asteroids in the asteroid belt. • The asteroid belt is long.

8. JUPITER • Jupiter is red. • The giant red spot is really a storm • Jupiter looks like it has stripes.

9. SATURN • Saturn has a ring around it. • Saturn is before Uranus. • Saturn is after Jupiter.

10. Uranus • Uranus is blue. • Uranus is has a ring around it. • Some times there's storms on it.

11. NEPTUNE • Neptune is blue ,and purple. • Neptune is big. • Neptune is an outer Planet.

12. Pluto • Pluto is small. • Pluto is brown and white. • Pluto is a dwarf planet.

13. The Dwarf Planet Pluto • Pluto is the smallest planet. • There are a lot of planets. • Pluto is not one of the 9 planets.

14. Galaxy • Our galaxy is BIG. • Our galaxy is called the Milky Way. • Galaxies are filled with millions of stars.

15. Stars • Stars are all over the sky. • Stars are all different sizes. • Stars are in all different places

16. Comet • Comets are in all different sizes. • Comet are different shapes. • Comets are called dirty snow balls and have a tail.

17. Milky Way • The Milky Way is our galaxy. • The Milky Way is a swirl.
