  3. Reporting Challenges • What business problems were we trying to solve? • Reporting for Payroll , Finance and Grants • Reporting for distribution • Users were new to Oracle and Discoverer • Users held manager-like positions • Concerns with Security for development and viewing of reports

  4. Options Considered • What different options did we look at? • Oracle BI • Build our own EUL within Discoverer • Standard Oracle Reports

  5. Why Buy Noetix? • Quick implementation time. • Had 90% of the views/reports we needed out of the box. • Employee Accrual Report • Supplier Paid Invoice History • Account Analysis Reports • NVCI limited IT Resources for report development. • Users needed access to adhoc reporting themselves.

The Implementation • Implementation timeline • Installation took about 3 weeks • Training for IT & Business Users was 1 week • Up and running with reports within 4 weeks • Currently have 10 to 15 users • Results and benefits • Reduced demand on IT resources for report development. • Access to data unavailable previously. • No issues to views experienced during Oracle upgrade and patching.

Tips & Tricks • Some lessons learned & tips when considering a reporting solution • Define requirements prior to implementation in order to better determine which views are needed. • Including IT in End User training is critical to accomplishing the reporting goals. • Use Noetix support. I have never had a issue go unresolved.
