  1. Generate Backup for QuickBooks Company File Are you trying to create a backup of your company file? Be sure for save points for accounting data. If you are facing any problem you can use your backup to restore data. Step1- Create a Backup of company file Backup file save everything from your company file including your accounting data, templates, letters, logos, images, and related files (QuickBooks Statement Writer, Cash Flow Projector, Business Planner, and Loan Manager). But it doesn’t backup your payroll form, if you want to generate or transfer your QuickBooks payroll to other computer then contact QB Payroll support team at 1844-827-3817 and they will help you to fix this issues. We can generate backup by two methods: Manually Automatically Schedule your backup automatically You can choose automatically backup instead of manually backup, let’s do the automatically backup. To create backup automatically follow the mentioned steps: In first step, Go to the File menu and select Switch to Single-user Mode.

  2. Now again Go to the File menu again and hover over Back up Company file and select Create Local Backup. In the window, select Local Backup and then Next. In the Local Backup Only section, Browse and select where you want to save company file backup. It is optional if you want, set the number of backups you want to keep. Select complete verification in the Online and Local Backup section. This runs a test to make sure your backup file is in good shape before you save. Select OK, when you're ready. Select Save it now option to schedule future backups and then Next. Or if you don't want to save a backup now then select only schedule future backups. Choose the Save backup copy automatically when I close my company file checkbox. Then select the number of times between backups. For creating a schedule, select New. Fill out the data fields to create a backup schedule. You can set a specific time or day of the week. After you set your schedule, select OK. QuickBooks asks you to enter your Windows sign-in password. This gives QuickBooks permission to run the scheduled backup. When you're ready to create your backup, select Finish. QuickBooks creates a backup and schedules your future backups at the same time. When it's done, you get a confirmation message. To Generate Company file backup manually Sometime user wants to generate company file backup manually. To generate manually backup of company file in QuickBooks, go to the File menu section and then select Switch to Single-user Mode. Now again go to the File menu and hover over Back up Company. And select Create Local Backup. In the window, choose Local Backup and then click Next. In the Local Backup Only section, Browse and select where you want to save your backup company file. Set the number of backups you want to keep. It is optional, if you required. This runs a test to make sure your backup file is in good shape before you save. Select OK, if you are ready. Select Save it now and then click on Next. QuickBooks creates a single backup company file. When it's done, you get a confirmation message. Step 2: Adjust your backup settings If you want to see when you last backed up your company file? Then Go to the File menu and hover over Back up Company. You'll see the time and date at the top of the menu.

Then choose Create Local Backup. Select Options. In Next steps: Restore your backup Now you have a backup company file you can use to restore your company file. This file has a .qbb extension at the end of the file name. Note: If you keep your backup company files on an external device or a hosting service like Box, you'll required to transfer them to your local hard drive first before you restore.
