  1. Plastic Surgery - Preparation Before Undergoing a Procedure Plastic Surgery - Preparation Before Undergoing a Procedure When you have made your decision in order to go ahead with plastic surgery  it could be a breast augmentation surgery or a tummy tuck done in Chicago, you will definitely want to keep a few things in mind as you start to prepare to go ahead with the surgery. There will be some medicines that you will have to start taking, and a few medicines that you will stop taking, foods that you will start consuming, and foods that you will stop consuming, habits that you start doing, and habits that you will need to pause for a while, and so forth. Typically, you will need to start preparing for the surgery from a month prior  as this will give you the best chance of recovery. Depending on the surgeon that you choose, he/she will give you a complete action plan in order to prepare for the surgery. In this article, we will look at a suggested preparation routine, which is normally given by plastic surgeons in Chicago to the patients in order to start preparing.  A month before: > Some surgeons will require that you go through a physical examination. This can be done by your local doctor  and you will have to show the results of your examination to the plastic surgeon.  > Talk to your surgeon and find out everything you can about the surgery, including the risks, scars and so forth, so that you can start preoperative skin treatments if necessary.  3 weeks before: > If you are a smoker or a drinker, you will need to stop these habits.  > Start having a lot of fruits, vegetables as well as highprotein foods, which are beneficial for your body.  > Plan your recovery time, and make sure that you stock up on activities to do such as books to read, movies to see and so forth.

  2. 2 weeks before: > Review your medications with your surgeon again, as they might have to change in view of the fast approaching surgery.  >   Get   some   vitamins   into   your   body      talk   to   your   surgeon   or   doctor   to   get   their recommendations on the type of vitamins that you would need.  > You will have to stop taking aspirin, blood thinners and antiinflammatory drugs from this point out.  A week before: > Increase your water input > Continue on the fruit, vegetables and high protein diet > get a lot of rest and relaxation > Do not eat a lot of salt  reduce the input to around 1000 milli grams daily.  > Prepare yourself and your surroundings for your recovery time  so keep things that you would need to access in easily accessible places, so that you do not strain yourself trying to get them. Talk to people who can assist you during this time. One night before: > Sleep well, and do not stress yourself out about the surgery > After midnight, ensure that you do not eat or drink anything, as this is recommended prior to surgery > Make sure that you check your transport to the surgery and confirm it again.  It can surely be stressful to have to face a surgery, but with this suggested plan, you will at least be well prepared.
