  1. MISSION The mission of tnAchieves is to provide every Tennessee public high school graduate the opportunity to attend a post-secondary institution with mentor support.

  2. What is tnAchieves? tnAchieves is a last-dollar scholarship and mentoring program that seeks to serve the student who would otherwise lack the opportunity to attend a post-secondary institution. This could be the only time in your life to have 2 years of college tuition free!!

  3. Key Components Volunteers from across the state donate funds to provide a post-secondary education for students who would otherwise lack the opportunity. Volunteers serve as mentors to our students to eliminate the barriers associated with access to post-secondary education. tnAchieves Scholars volunteer their time by giving back at least eight hours of community service each semester.

Requirements Apply at www.tnachieves.org (no GPA, ACT or income requirement) Communicate with your assigned mentor every 2 weeks Attend 2 team meetings, 1 orientation and 1 college meeting File FAFSA by February 1 Apply to an approved community of technical college by February 15 Complete ACT by April 12 Register for classes by July 1 Maintain 12 semester hours Complete 8 hours of community service by December 1 and May one of each college year Maintain a 2.0 GPA as a college student

  5. FAQs • Can I apply to the program and then withdraw later if I decide not to go to a community or technical college? Yes! • Is the preference for first generation students only if money runs out? Correct. • Do I have to stay in the program for 2 years or can you transfer? We encourage students to transfer. • Can undocumented students apply? Students must be eligible for federal funding through the FAFSA and in-state tuition to remain tnAchieves eligible. • Can I go to a different team meeting? No. • Does the community service have to be completed in high school? Community service begins in college.
