  1. Integration of Technology Ryne Powell EDEL 624 Power Point 2

  2. Vision • To keep up with the changing nature of learning and our students we as educators must strive to make the leap as well. We must leap into the 21st century and become millennial teachers to go with our millennial students. To do this we must integrate as much technology into our teaching strategies as much as possible.

  3. Vision • By leaping to the 21st century… • Our students will have more enriching educations, and be able to touch technology that will be part of their lives. Students will be able to explore outside of our school, and learn much more. • Our staff will have a more engaging teaching technique for students. They will be able to keep students engaged, motivated, and goal oriented. • Our community will be more benefitted by the ability to raise the level and quality of education in our school. We will raise the bar as far as technology and the quality of education in our schools.

  4. Vision • We will achieve this goal by doing the following five steps… • 1) Provide the ability to students, teachers, and staff to communicate more effectively using technology. • 2) Provide more engaging forms of education for all learners. These will be used to provide a higher level of engagement in the classroom. • 3) Provide more interactive forms of learning in the classroom. To provide ways for teachers and students to be able to communicate and discuss topics in class. • 4) To prepare all students within the school for computer literary. Students will be able to type, access internet, and be able to do all online testing before end of year testing. • 5) To provide options for students other than writing, presenting, or testing to possibly demonstrate that he or she has learned the material.

  5. Smart Boards • Engaging Teaching Tools • Very interactive • Grabs the attention of students who use these boards. • Students and Teacher benefit greatly from these because of the interaction, engagement, and hands on learning that can occur.

  6. Ipads • THE NEXT BIG THING • We must invest in Ipads. • These teaching tools can engage the most reluctant learners. • They are also easy for older learns to comprehend as well.

  7. Online Testing • Not all students have internet or a computer at home. • We as a school need to make sure that students know how to type, go online, and do online testing. • Assessments would be more effective, quicker, and accurate for teachers. • Students would be better prepared for End of Year Tests.

  8. Class Parrott • Most parents and students have a cell phone. • Most text • This program allows teachers to have students, parents, and others sign up. • They can then receive updates about tests, assignments, or updates in class.

  9. Flip Cameras • Not all students learn the same way • Some are hands on • Some are auditory • And some are visual • Flip cameras give students the ability to show their learning through pictures. • What is we gave them the option to show what they learned through pictures, video, or acting in a PowerPoint.
