  1. Welcome Parents STEPHEN DECATUR GOLF Golf is deceptively simple and endlessly complicated; it satisfies the soul and frustrates the intellect. It is at the same time rewarding and maddening – and it is without a doubt… the greatest game mankind has ever invented. - Arnold Palmer Parents, please fill out the sign in sheet being circulated.

  3. Coach Jim Krall • Married (Shelly) 16 years 1 child Matt (14) • Ocean Pines resident • Teacher SDHS • Varsity golf coach (13 years) • Began playing serious golf at age 12 – Flat Creek Country Club, Peachtree City, Ga. • Self taught

  4. Club Philosophy • The Stephen Decatur Middle School Golf Club was created to expose 7th and 8th grade boys and girls to organized golf. • The ultimate goal is for all players to find true pleasure in the sport and strive to improve their skills throughout their lives. • Hopefully, a side affect of our efforts, will produce some golfers who may chose to take their game to the next level – high school golf. • No players will be cut from the club on the basis of talent. This club will cater to all levels. • The club is designed to teach players the fundamentals of the game and improve upon what they’ve already accomplished.

  5. The difference between this club and a junior golf clinic. • SDMS Golf Club – Free • Coach Krall & Lenox are not paid • Certified in CPR & “The Care and Prevention of Athletic Injuries” • FBI background check - fingerprinted • Players must meet certain requirements in order to participate. • Players will be held to higher expectations • Model this club as close to the high school program as possible.

  6. Requirements to play • Current physical • Permission Slip • Maintain 2.0 GPA • No In-school Suspensions • Good attitude • Signed Player Contract Any behavior detrimental to yourself, your family, your school, and the program is grounds for disciplinary action. Disciplinary action will include (but not limited to); loss of privileges to practice, removal from club, and any administrative action deemed necessary.

  7. Wear the appropriate uniform/dress at all practices. Respect all playing facilities, their employees, and other golfers on the course. Attend all golf club scheduled/announced events and report on time. If you cannot make it you are expected to notify Coach Krall with a phone call 410-430-4572, or email kralldad@hotmail.com jjkrall@mail.worcester.k12.md.us Respect all middle school golfers, their coaches, and golf course employees. Swearing, throwing clubs, or any other forms of poor sportsmanship/bad attitudes will NOT be tolerated. Immediate dismissal from club may result without warning. Absolutely no drug, alcohol, or tobacco use tolerated. Strong rumors qualify for guilt. Getting caught outside of school will be weighed the same as getting caught during school. A few examples
