  2. Monument • The Arc de Triomphe is 49 m high, 45 m wide, and 22 m deep. • It is covered in many sculptures also La Marseillaise by Rude. • The names of 128 battles are written on the walls that the French Republic and Napoleon fought.

  3. Arc de triomphe world war one • An unknown soldier was buried under the Arc de Triomphe. • Since 1923 the flame of Remberance is light everyday by veterans and soldiers at 6 p.m.

  4. History • Napoleon commissioned the arc de Triomphe to Jean Chalgrin in 1806. • Construction was stopped by napoleon in 1814 and started up again in 1826. • The Arc de Triomphe finished in 1836.

  5. More • The Arc de Triomphe is one of Paris famous monuments. • It is a memorial for soldiers that died during World War 1.
