  4. what is the Service Initiative? • Hands on service focusing on children. • Changes every two years. • Determined by community and global needs. • Allows clubs of all sizes and from any country to participate.

  5. Key Club 2008-10 Service Initiative

  6. our objective • Assisting five to nine year olds to overcome learning obstacles. • Enabling these students to be successful and give back to their community.

  7. Live to Learn focus Key Club members are serving primary school children in three areas: • Improving grades. • Giving back. • Growing together.

  8. improving grades • Mentoring, tutoring, and developing reading improvement programs will address a major education need in all communities.

  10. improving grades project ideas • Track a book’s travels • BookCrossing.com - register a book. • Set the book free to travel the world. • Leave it on a park bench, at a coffee shop, at a hotel on vacation. • Track the book’s journey.

  12. giving back • Work with primary schools to coordinate service projects young students can participate in within their school. Mentor, role-model, and teach youth to be lifelong servant leaders.
