  4. Library Rules • Water is acceptable…no other food or drink, however. • Cell phones are allowed, but earbuds and headphones are not. • Above all, respect all patrons, property, and materials.

  5. Library Visits • Hours are 7:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 7:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. Fridays. • Signed passes and IDs are required during class time. • Please sign in at circulation desk during class time. • No passes are needed before school, after school, and during lunch. • You must have your valid picture ID with you!

  6. ID Cards • You need one… no excuses! • All students must have a picture ID before checking out anything from the library. • ID pictures are taken by Mr. Hanley. • Remember: You must pay $5 in the business office for a replacement.

  7. Circulation Desk • The circulation desk is located to the left of the entrance. • What’s there? • You can: • Ask questions • Pay fines • Check out materials • Return materials—book drop • Sign in • Reserve materials

  8. Services and SuppliesAsk at Circulation Desk • Black and White Copies—You must use the copier/printer in front of the circulation counter. • There is no color printer.

Our Collection Fiction E-books Biography Nonfiction Easy Story Collection TAYSHAS Award Winners Bestsellers Reference Magazines Librosenespanol Note: We support, and work in partnership with, our local public libraries! Come by to pick up an application for a library card or visit http://www.elpasolibrary.org/ We also publicize their events and activities throughout the year.

  10. Books and Magazines • Maximum checkout: 5 • Length for checkouts: 2 weeks • Fiction and Nonfiction • Fines: 5 cents per school day • Overnight checkout • Reference (Limit: 1) • Periodicals (Limit: 1) • Fines: 10 cents per day • Replacement costs are charged for lost items!

  11. AV Materials • Audio books (CDs) • Sound recordings • Length for checkouts: 1 week • Maximum checkout: 1 item at a time • Fines: 50 cents per day

  12. Circulation Policies Summary 1. Present ID at circulation desk. 2. A maximum of five books may be checked out. 3. The loan period for fiction and nonfiction is two weeks. 4. The loan period for audio books is one week. 5. The loan period for reference and magazines is one night (overnight). These items are due in the library before the beginning of classes on the following day. 6. These are the fines for overdue items: • 1. Fiction/nonfiction = 5 cents per item per day • 2. Overnight items = 10 cents per item per period • 3. Audio books = 50 cents per item per period per day. Borrowers will be charged replacement costs for any lost or severely damaged item.

  13. Overdue Notices • Distributed straight to your school email addresses. • Check for accuracy! • Do not ignore.

  14. Computers/Printing Computers are for: • Research • Word Processing • Locating library materials Printing must be: • For educational purposes • Directly linked to class work

  15. Fire Drills and Lockdowns In the library, you must follow procedures for safety. • Fire Drills: • Emergency exit in rear of library. • Proceed to practice field. • Return on two-bell signal. • Lockdowns: • Librarians will provide instructions as necessary.
