  1. How to Connect your PC to your Television Anthony Simms May 11, 2011 English 393 Section 0401

  2. Introduction • This process explains how to view the images on your laptop screen on your television. • Meant for everyone • Preferably at least 10 years of age • Short process; can be completed at any time

  3. Materials • PC (Laptop) and Television • Video Converter Box: • VideoSecu 1L7 PC Laptop Computer to TV Presentation Converter VGA to Video: VGA2TV • Essential Cables (that come along with box): • RCA video cable • USB Power Adapter Cable • VGA cable • 6 ft. RiteAV Stereo RCA Male Cable (optional)

  4. Step 1 • Make sure your laptop and TV are both turned off • The process will not work if this step is not taken.

  5. Step 2 • Connect the RCA video cable to the converter box and to the TV. • Since the end of both pieces are yellow, this should not be complicated.

  6. Step 3 • Connect the USB Power Adapter Cable to the converter box and to your laptop • There is no wall outlet to give power to the converter box.

  7. Step 4 • Connect the VGA cable to the converter box and to your laptop • Make sure you connect the VGA cable to the shorter side of the converter box, not the longer side.

  8. Step 5 • Turn on your television and your laptop • The settings on your computer should automat-ically adapt to the settings of the television • Be amazed!!

  9. Additional Step (optional) • The process I described only converts the video of your laptop to your television screen, not the sound. • If you prefer to use the sound of your television, instead of the sound of your laptop, then connect the Stereo RCA Cable to your computer and to the television.

  10. Frequently Asked Questions • A: So far, it has worked for every television and laptop computer that I have used. If you can find a way to connect the cords, then the process should work. • Q: Does this process work for any television and laptop computer?

  11. Frequently Asked Questions • No, not at all (if you don’t include the price of the laptop and the television). I paid a total of $22.39 for the converter box that came with all the necessary cables. Then, I only paid $0.01 for the optional Stereo RCA Cable. • Were the materials expensive?

  12. THE END Enjoy!!
