  3. The Paperboy • Characters: The paperboy and his dog. • Setting: On one cold, dark, and early morning. (Backdrop Setting) • Narrative Point of View: External Omniscient Narrator

  4. The Study of Literature • Theme: Learn to be independent. • Style: Words: easy and frequently used in children’s daily life. Sentences: Narrative sentences. Most sentences are short. No Dialogues in this story.

  5. Illustrations • Line Curves and circles are frequently used on surroundings. • Space No space is left. • Shape Rounded shapes are often applied on objects like trees, mountains, stars and so on.

  6. Illustrations • Colors Great amount of dark colors such as dark blue, dark green and black are used. • Composition and Perspective Loosely grouped like houses, trees and stars. Middle shots: combination of close-ups and panoramic views.

  7. Features of the paperboy • Independence The only support the paperboy receives is himself. No body offers help.

  8. Ben’s Trumpet Ben is very fond of music. He pretends he can play trumpet. However, he has no trumpet, and some children even laugh at him. One day, his chance has come…
