Employees Continue to Grow and Achieve The Special Libraries Association presented the Johnson Management Library employees—Barbara Bartholomew, Angela Horne, Melissa Jackson, Susan Kendrick, Elena MacGurn, Lee Ringland, Neely Tang, and Terri Whitaker—with the Centers of Excellence (COE) Award for Service.

  3. Employees Continue to Grow and Achieve Jane Miller and Amy Layton eachreceived recognition as one of 20 Outstanding Women You Should Know of Tompkins County.

  4. Employees Continue to Grow and Achieve Philosopher Kings documentary premiered, featuring two of Cornell’s custodians: Jim Evener and Gary Napieracz.

  5. Employees Continue to Grow and Achieve Employees Continue to Grow and Achieve Women’s rowing coach Hilary Gehmanwas named the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association Mid-Atlantic Coach of the Year.

  6. Employees Continue to Grow and Achieve Staff in the Office of Community Relations received an award for race relations efforts from the State University of New York Council for University Advancement.

  7. Employees Continue to Grow and Achieve Employees Continue to Grow and Achieve Weill Hall project team—Mark Howe, Lanny Joyce, Kaz Hattori, David Newman, Brian Brown, Bob Stundtner, Darlene Hackworth, Sue Drew, Randy Lacey, Todd Pfeiffer, Matt Kozlowski, and Ralph Personius—were recognized for contributions to promoting sustainability measures during NYS Energy Research and Development Authority Building Efficiency Award Ceremony.

  8. Employees Continue to Grow and Achieve Employees Continue to Grow and Achieve CU cable access show East Hill Notes produced by Claudia Wheatley and hosted by Gary Stewart, won best talk show programming and “best in show” for Educational Access.

  9. Employees Continue to Grow and Achieve Employees Continue to Grow and Achieve Tim Marchell, Gannett Health Services, was recognized for his work on student mental health challenges by Tompkins County Community Mental Health Services Board.

  10. Employees Continue to Grow and Achieve Wrestling’s head coach Rob Koll was named InterMat’s 2010 Head Coach of the Year.

  11. Employees Continue to Grow and Achieve Gail Steinhart, Research Data and Environmental Sciences Librarian, Albert R. Mann Library, won the 2009–2010 SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Librarianship.

  12. Employees Continue to Grow and Achieve Bartels Award for Custodial Service Excellence was given to Cecilia Stock, Ted Canfield, Al Hand, Angie Gray, and Marcia Mikavica.

  13. Employees Continue to Grow and Achieve SOAR AwardsOutstanding Advisor Award was given to David Bell, Cassandre Joseph, and Joyce Muchan.

  14. Employees Continue to Grow and Achieve Women’s hockey coach Doug Derraughwas named the 2010 Division I Women’s Hockey Coach of the Year. 

  15. Employees Continue to Grow and Achieve Mimi Benjamin, Emerging Scholar Award, American College Personnel Association (ACPA). Amy Pollock, Advisor of the Year Award, National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH).

  16.   18. Employees Continue to Give Back • United Way Giving • 2,139 individuals gave $802,376, averaging $275 gift/employee, an all-time high, exceeding goal by 10.7%. • Hardship Fund • $52,000 was contributed by employees, retirees and friends of Cornell.

  19. Employees Continue to Give Back • Outreach to the Broader Community • Holiday Elves Program supported 656 children during the holiday season • Backpack program sent 257 backpacks to 12 area schools. • Volunteering • Commencement: nearly 400 employees and retirees are volunteering this weekend. • Slope Day: nearly 300 staff volunteer to support Campus Life staff in keeping this event safe and fun for students. • 610 staff and faculty volunteered to advise the 939 registered student organizations.
