  3. How it works • Screening for all kids • Continuous progress monitoring • A continuum of services • .Services are done in tiers ( 1,2,3) • Interventions get more specific as a kid gets further up the tier • Everything is evidenced based • Things are done relevant to local culture

  4. How it works • A combination of: • Strategic planning • Site Based Decision making • Response to Intervention • All stake holders are involved. • It is the new Law of the Land!!!!!

  5. Terms You Will Hear • Tier 1,2,3- Intensity of intervention • Continuous Progress Monitoring- may be a behavior sheet, check in check out system • Fidelity- Are you doing what you say you are doing • Swis- School wide information system

  6. Results based • Data are shared with staff and community. • Data show how school is progressing toward ameliorating problem behavior. • Schools look at surveys to decide what behaviors are problematic. • It’s a science experiment for behavior.

  7. It works! On Paper • Results show that behaviors will go down if program is followed. • Must have staff buy in! • Must have leadership buy in! • Data can be manipulated.

  8. Real classroom worlds • 1. Classroom matrix • 2. School matrix • “empowers” teachers • 3. Rewards, WALTS, others • 4. Not really punishments • 5. School rewards.
