Welcome Back to Day 2! 1) What is the signal for your attention? 2) List all the materials that you need for class? *Have all your materials out if you have them. 3) What was yesterdays assignment? 4) Two things you learned from class yesterday. Bellwork: (remember it should be on the same bellwork paper as yesterday)

  4. Class Expectancy Sheet • Take 4 minutes to read through the expectancy sheet on your own. • Be ready to answer questions from all sections. • Be ready to ask a question about the class.

  5. Class Expectancy Sheet • Materials • Binder – 4 sections (Bellwork, Homework, Notes, Tests) • Pencil and paper • Paper

  6. Class Expectancy Sheet • Policies • No Cell Phone Zone • No IPOD/MP3 Players • Uniforms • No gum, food, drink or candy (water only) • No Hats

  7. Class Expectancy Sheet • Attendance • Can’t learn if you’re not here. Lessons are designed to build on the previous days lesson. • If absent (no matter the reason), you are still responsible for all materials, notes, homework, and tests. • Assignments are posted on the board • Paperwork and worksheets are stored in the absent boxes. • Make-up assignments and tests must be made up by the number of days absent plus one.

Dismissal • Clean – up • Leave the place cleaner than when you got here. • Throw away all trash • Don’t leave your personal belongings here. • Return class items back to there place. “a place for everything, and everything has its place.” Remember: The teacher dismisses the class not the bell.

  9. Class Expectancy Sheet • Testing • When do we test? • What if I’m absent the day of a test? • Can I make up a test? Can I retake the test? • Tutoring • There is tutoring available through PHG • I’m available for questions or help before school and at lunch.

  12. Health & Personal Issues • Bathroom Passes – one person at a time and you MUST have done some work before you leave • Nurse – only for emergencies

  14. Be on Task • Not doing work for another class while in class. • Participating in the activity we are doing in class or listening to new information. • Do what you are SUPPOSED to do.

  15. Be Courteous • No Food or Drink • Keep books and backpacks under the desk or on chair for safety sake • All personal grooming in the restroom. Including smells and sprays. • Return materials • Speaker courtesy

  16. Be Courteous Sharpen pencils and dispose of trash – before/after class or in an emergency, when teacher is not talking. Turn off cell phones before entering classroom. Turn off music players before entering class! Raise hand to respond orquestion rather than blurt out the answer/question Listen attentively when another student is speaking.

  18. Class Expectancy Sheet • Negative Consequences • verbal warning/ no participation points • Conference/ no points • Lunch detention/or call home & no points • Call home and/or referral • Severe disruption – directly to assistant principal • Failure of the class.

  20. Activities • Khan Academy Video • Take notes during the video. • Write a paragraph about what you learned. • When you finish, list of 40 things you want from life.
