  2. Texas Independence • Texas is settled by American immigrants than fights for its independence from Mexico • Remember the Alamo?!

  3. Mexican-American War • The US invades Mexico during the 1840s and forces it to secede many states in the present day Southwest to the USA

  4. Pancho Villa’s Raid • The Mexican Revolutionary, Pancho Villa, raided and burned a town across the US-Mexica border. • This prompted a campaign into Mexico to find and capture him (unsuccessful).
