  7. The PLAYground is a transmedia learning platform for the curation, creation and circulation of user-generated activities that encourages co-learning among adults and youth. It is designed to cultivate and promote learning activities through “challenges”. A challenge creatively synthesizes a “take action”, a hands-on learning activity that can easily integrate across various disciplines, interests and ages. Discover. Learn. Teach.

  9. Why Play? For problem-solving, play can be a really useful way to find and test new ideas. Nathan Sawaya is a “Brick Artist” who played with Legos as a child, but it wasn’t until after college that he used Legos to create meaningful art pieces. In talking about his process he said, “I sketch out almost all my projects. I like to have an idea of what the finished sculpture will look like before I start building.” People PLAY in all kind of places for all kinds of reasons. Take action and show through a photo or video how you play and what it means to you. Playing is not always about just solving a specific problem. How do you experiment in your everyday life? What are some of your favorite ways of playing that use experimentation? The New Media Literacy, PLAY, is the ability to experiment with your surroundings toward a form of problem-solving.
