  3. How are colors determined? Sample results:2017 Graduation=70% 2018 Graduation=76% = increased 6% points 2018 Status=low (76%) 2018 Change=Increased significantly (+6) 2018 Color=Yellow Each indicator has a 5 x 5 grid that considers 2018 results (status) and how that compares to 2017 results (change). Here’s an example for Graduation Rate:

  4. Status and Change- ELA Prior year (2017) ELA Distance from Standard (Status): -89.5 points Current year (2018) ELA Distance from Standard (Status): -103.5 points Difference between current year and prior year 2018 minus 2017 (Change): Declined by 14 points

  5. Middle SchoolMath Gr. 6-8 Identify the school’s placement on the Math Gr. 3-8 5x5 Table Determine how many points the school needs to improve in order to improve from red to orange on the CA Dashboard. Write a measurable objective based on the targeted growth.

Math Gr. 3-8 5x5 Table • Middle School Math Gr.6-8: • In order to improve from red to orange on the Math CA Dashboard in 2019-20, students in grades 6-8 will increase the average distance from standard by 3 points on the Math SBAC from -136.9 to -133.9 points. • or • Students in Gr. 6-8 will increase the average distance from standard on the math SBAC by 3 points from -136.9 to -133.9 points in order to improve from red to orange on the Math CA Dashboard in 2019-20.

ELA Gr. 11 5x5 Table • High School ELA Gr.11: • In order to improve from red to orange on the ELA CA Dashboard in 2019-20, students in grade 11 will increase the average distance from standard on the ELA SBAC by 3 points from -92.5 to -89.5 points. • or • Students in grade 11 will increase the average distance from standard on the ELA SBAC by 3 points from -92.5 to -89.5 points in order to improve from red to orange on the ELA CA Dashboard in 2019-20.

Math Gr. 3-85x5 Table • Middle School English Learner Subgroup-Math: • In order to improve to a higher orange color status on the Math CA Dashboard in 2019-20, the English Learner student group will increase the average distance from standard on the Math SBAC by 15 points from -176.4 to -161.4 points. •   or • The English Learner student group will increase the average distance from standard on the Math SBAC by 15 points from -176.4 to -161.4 points in order to improve to a higher orange color status on the Math CA Dashboard in 2019-20.

College/Career5x5 Table • High School Students with Disabilities-College & Career: • In order to improve from red to orange on the CA Dashboard College & Career indicator in 2019-20, the percentage of Students with Disabilities who are college/career ready will increase form 6.1% to 8.1%. • The percentage of Students with Disabilities who are College/Career ready will increase from 6.1% to 8.1% in order to improve from red to orange on the CA Dashboard College/Career indicator in 2019-20.
