  5. How to tell what’s true • Does it sound right? • What is the background of the person making the claim? Are they reliable? • What do other sources say? • What do eye witnesses say? • What do documents say? • What does the data say? • What do most researchers and experts say? (Professors, historians, scientists, doctors…etc)

The truth about conspiracy theories… -Fun to think about, but usually not true -Don’t hold up when put to the test -In a free society it is extremely difficult for huge secrets to exist -The U.S. government is not good at keeping secrets -People in general are not good at keeping secrets -People and countries will do what they believe is in their own best interest
