  1. NANOTECHNOLOGY Presented by: SHWETA SINHA

  2. Manipulation of matter on atomic and molecule scale.

  3. INTRODUCTION • Key of technology for future and governments. • Devices with at least one dimension sized from 1 to 100 nanometer. • the USA has invested 3.7 billion dollars ,European Union has invested 1.2 million and Japan 750 million dollars.

  4. HISTORY • The emergence of nanotechnology in the 1980s was caused by convergence of experimental advances. • The developments of concepts and experimental work falling under the broad categories of nanotechnology. • A relatively recent development in scientific research. • Converts large part devices to small part devices.

  5. IMPACTS • Medical , ethical , mental , legal and environmental applications. • To fields such as engineering , biology , chemistry , computing , materials science , military applications and communications. • Improved manufacturing methods , water purification systems , energy systems , nanomedicine and large scale infrastructure .

  6. BENEFITS OF NANOTECHNOLOGY • Cheap and powerful energy generation. • Clean and highly efficient manufacturing. • Improved formulation of drugs , diagnosis and organ replacement. • For information storage and communication capacities.

  7. APPLICATIONS OF NANOTECHNOLOGY • Used in the improving the efficiency of fuel production. • Used in new kinds of batteries . • Used in nanoscale transistors.

  8. APPLICATIONS OF NANOTECHNOLOGY • Used in magnetic random access memory. • Used in TVs , laptop computers, cell phones , digital cameras and other devices . • Used in flash memory chips for iPods. • Used in ultra responsive hearing aids , antimicrobial coating on mouse/keyboards and cell phones.

  9. ORGANIZATIONS • NATIONAL CENTRE FOR NANOSCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY(CHINA) • NATIONAL INSTITUTE FOR NANOTECHNOLOGY(CANADA) • NATIONAL NANOTECHNOLOGY CENTRE (NANOTEC)(THAILAND)

  10. CONCULSIONS • Nanotechnology is already making today’s products: • Lighter • Stronger • Faster • Smaller • More Durable
