  2. Agenda • Safety Moment • Background • Projects • Other Experiences Gained • Lessons Learned • Questions

  3. Safety Moment - H2S Detection • What is the proper monitor placement? • Always place monitor at or near your face as to detect any H2S presence • Make sure sensor is not obstructed by clothing and facing outward • What happened? • Goldsmith Tract 2 Gas Leak • H2S Monitor Alarmed • Awareness: • Be aware of your surroundings • Always know the wind direction • Test the monitor each time you use it

  4. Background • Born: Dover, Delaware • Hometown: America • School: New Mexico State University – May 2016 • Degree: Chemical Engineering • Past Experience: • NMSU Aggie Innovation Space • NMSU Reduced Gravity & Biomechanics Lab • Involvement: American Institute of Chemical Engineers, Tau Beta Pi

  5. Project Assignments - XTO • MPZ/ROZ Expansion • Field: Means • Location: Andrews, TX • Facility: Sub-Battery 228 • University Block 20 Expansion • Field: Monahans • Location: Wink, TX • Facility: University Block 20

  6. Means Field Well Work Plan • History • 1934 – Discovered • 1963 – Start Water Flood • 1983 – Start CO2 Flood • Main Pay Zone / Residual Oil Zone • Re-developing the MPZ • Expanding CO2 into ROZ • Expansion will increase oil production from 6,000bpd to 13,000 bpd • Cost • Total Investment: $635 Million ($440 already funded) SB 228 North Dome Expansion Phase 1 Other Expansion Areas

  7. XTO - MPZ/ROZ Expansion • Scope: • Determine capacity of current facility • Determine facility design required for forecasted rates • Findings: • Concluded that Sub-Battery 228 will experience bottlenecking due to the current piping • The forecasted gas production requires significant facility upgrades
