Office of New Student Recruitment • Mission Statement • The Office of New Student Recruitment provides outreach services and information to a broad community of departments, faculty, staff, and prospective students. Services and information provided by Recruitment are intended to assist prospective students, their families and support networks with the college application and admissions processes and facilitate communication between prospective students and the University. Through such guidance, Recruitment endeavors to increase successful applications for admission and support general registration and retention efforts.

  3. CAS Self-Study Process • Review and rate CAS Standards & Guidelines individually • Weekly 1-2 hour CAS Team discussions to arrive at scoring consensus • Documentation gathering & review

CAS Identified Strengths • Mission & Program – Accurately reflect Recruitment’s collaborative efforts to provide prospective students and stakeholders with comprehensive information regarding the college-going process. • Ethics, Equity & Access – Team members excel in their ability to ensure principled and professional conduct in the recruitment of students; striving to create an inclusive and supportive climate for prospective students.

  5. CAS Identified Opportunities • Goal Setting – No quantitative goals set to drive Recruitment priorities. • Leadership – Recruitment, as an office and a practice, requires broader dissemination and buy-in to be successful.

CAS Identified Opportunities • Facilities & Equipment – Recruitment’s off-campus location with no dedicated, private meeting space presents many challenges to fulfill commitment to college access. • Assessment & Evaluation – Historically, Recruitment has not had the opportunity to successfully and consistently assess and evaluate strategies and activities; proving difficult to determine the success of, or opportunities for improvement in any given area.

  7. CAS Findings & the Future of Recruitment • Goal Setting – Develop and review goals using trend data and align with UAA 2017 Strategic Plan • Leadership – Create comprehensive recruitment plan, vetted by key stakeholders • Facilities & Equipment – Draft proposal for relocation of the Office of New Student Recruitment to an on-campus location • Assessment & Evaluation – Consistent utilization of evaluation tools to determine effectiveness of recruitment programs, strategies, and activities
