  1. Lee Teng Interns Meeting – August 2, 2019 • All posters with Rosa – look GREAT!, thank you! • You will be notified when ready for pickup at WG GF North East • By Thursday morning. • Thurs, Aug 8, 3-5 PM, Intern Posters at Fermilab WH 2X • will get Intellectual Prop, Patent, Export reviews before printing • set up posters by noon in your assigned spot, down by 6 PM • Posters are yours to keep • we’ll probably have time for short meeting with ANL LTIs just before poster session • I recommend spending ½ time at your poster, ½ time at others in ~ 15-20 min increments, discussing, asking, learning • Expect questions: What’s this all about? => 3 minute version What did you do? How does it “fit in”? Scientific background? Maybe some serious cross-examination, like an oral test…. Peter H. Garbincius | Lee Teng Interns Meeting

Final Reports – Please: don’t wait until last minute Have your mentor check out your report by Thursday, August 8 (Aug 22 for Calder) I’m also glad to help, to review and to make suggestions Send report (in some editable format: MS Word, .tex, etc.) to your mentor and to me before leaving on Friday, August 9 (Aug 23 for Calder) The report will need Intellectual Property/Patent and Export Controls reviews before I can post on the LTI indico site Peter H. For Final Report Title page will also have to have: (at top right) FERMILAB-CONF-19-XXX-AD or TD (for Calder) see next page for instructions to get this XXX number (at bottom, again same as for poster) This manuscript has been authored by Fermi Research Alliance, LLC under Contract No. DE-AC02-07CH11359 with the U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Science, Office of High Energy Physics. As for your poster, for your final report: • Start at the Fermilab Technical Publications https://techpubs.fnal.gov/ • Click on the request Fermilab report number link on upper left side of page. • Enter your Fermilab ID badge number including the letter after the number. • Click the “Get new report number” . • Choose CONFERENCE for publication type. • Choose your Group or Division. = TD for Calder, AD for others • Add title. • Add the abstract of your poster – the 1st paragraph or a couple of sentences describing the topic of your poster • Under comments add: Conference = Lee Teng Internship – 2019 and Supervisor = Peter H. Garbincius, x-3693, peterg@fnal.gov • Click “Continue” • Make any changes if necessary and click continue. • The system will assign a Fermilab report number for your poster. Peter H. Irina (USPAS office) said widespread problem USPAS students can’t unsubscribe themselves Susan W in contact with U of NM official who is trying to get all USPAS students unsubscribed Rosa (8/1): return vehicles, ID badges, Fermilab computers, etc. Peter: Kyle and Calder: TLD badges & pocket dosimeters Peter H. Feedback – to help us improve Lee Teng Internship • I will be asking for your comments, complaints, suggestions on the Lee Teng Internship • Advertising of program, how did you learn about LTI? • Application process • On-boarding, including visa and work authorization • Training requirements • Travel to/from Fermilab and to/from USPAS • Housing & automobile • Administrative – both Fermilab WDRS and Peter H. Garbincius • Information flow • USPAS • Research project and mentor • Tours at FNAL & ANL: like/dislike, too few/too many • Posters and final report • Anything else on which you care to comment • I’ll ask for these comments by ~ 1 week after you end, before you forget – Thank you, Peter H.
