Help Course summary—Set up Lync 2013 Course summary Sign in and get oriented To change views: Click the tabs below your picture (Contacts->Chat rooms->Conversations->Phone) To open the QuickLync menu: Point at a contact, then click an icon to send an IM, make a phone or video call, or see a contact card. Change your picture • Click Options button, then click My Picture. • ClickEdit or Change Picture, browse to and click new picture. • Click Open->Save->OK. Set your conversation history • Click Options button, then click Personal. • Select or clear check box Save IM conversations in my email Conversation History folder. Set up your audio • Click Options button, then click Audio Device. • Select audio device to use for calls. • Test volume settings. • Make test call to check audio quality. Set up your video • Click Options button, then click Video Device. • If you have a built-in video camera, view test image and adjust settings. • If you have an external video camera but Lync doesn’t detect it, check to ensure a good connection and make sure device drivers are installed and up to date.

Help Course summary—Presence, IM, and Contacts Course summary Add contacts and create groups Add a contact to your contacts list • Type name or email address in Search. • Right-click QuickLync menu, click Add to Contacts List. • Select a group to add the contact to. Create a new group • When adding a contact, click Add to Contacts List->New Group, then give the group a name. Or • Click the Add-a-contact icon then click Create a New Group. Use presenceto manage time • Go to Options->Personal to sync Lync with your Outlook calendar. • Set your presence manually to protect your calendar; see others’ availability at a glance. • To block a contact, right-click contact listing, click Change Privacy relationship->Blocked Contacts. Send and receive IMs • To send an IM, click someone’s picture (in Lync) or presence indicator (anywhere else in Office). • To accept an IM, click anywhere on the alert; to make it go away, click Ignore. • Use tabbed conversations to keep several IM sessions going at once. Use the contact card Open the contact card • Point to contact’s picture to display QuickLync menu. • Click the contact card icon. • View contact’s calendar, call, IM or schedule a meeting right from the card, or click Organizationtab to see their workgroup.

Help Course summary—Schedule, Join, and Conduct Lync Meetings Course summary Schedule a Lync Meeting • On your Outlook calendar ribbon, click New Lync Meeting. • Type the invitees’ email addresses, subject, and agenda. • Click Meeting Options and change the settings if you need to. • Double-check the information and click Send. Join a Lync Meeting • Click Join Lync Meeting, and select your audio from the Join Meeting Audio window. • If you don’t have access to a computer, call into the meeting with the conference numbers and IDs. • If you don’t have Lync installed, Lync Web App opens automatically to join you in the meeting. Share your desktop or programs • In the meeting window, pause on the presentation (monitor) icon, then do one of the following: • Click Desktop to share the content on your desktop. • Click Program, and select the programs or documents you want to share. • Use the sharing toolbar at the top of the screen to stop sharing, or give control to participants. • When you’ve finished presenting, on the toolbar click Stop Presenting.

Help Course summary—Make Audio and Video Calls Course summary Make an audio call with Lync 2013 • Find the person you want to call via Lync search. • Point at their picture and then click the phone icon on the QuickLync menu. • To call them at a different number, click the dropdown arrow next to the phone icon and select the number. Make a video call with Lync 2013 • Find the person you want to call via Lync search. • Point at their picture and then click the camera icon on the QuickLync menu. When they accept the call, they’ll see you on video, and, if their camera is on, you’ll see them, too. • If you want to turn off your video during the call, just click the camera icon again. Add your mobile phone number to your contact information • Click the Lync Options icon, then click the Phone tab. • Click Mobile Phone, and then type in your number. • Click Include in my contact card and then click OK.
