Implementing Agency (IA) ’s key roles UN Environment GEF Unit Responsible for the overall project supervision Overseeing the project progress through the monitoring and evaluation of project activities and progress reports Report the project implementing progress to GEF Take part in the Project Steering Committee (PSC) Provide guidance and oversight of project execution by the EA with review and approval of work plans, budget allocations and budget revisions proposed by the EA

Executing Agency (EA) ’s key roles SAICM Secretariat Establishing and supervising the project execution unit (PEU) Acting as Secretariat for the Project Steering Committee (PSC) Overseeing that the project runs according to the agreed work plan, budget and reporting tasks Communicating with, and disseminating information to SAICM stakeholders Coordinating project activities with those of the SAICM MSP, for which SAICM is also EA

Project Execution Unit (PEU) Project Execution Unit (PEU) ’s key roles Organize the PSC meetings and serve as its Secretariat Ensure Project execution (all technical aspects of project implementation) Management and implement the project results and output level M&E framework, to evaluate project performance Ensure project governance and oversight of the financial resources from GEF investment Manage the flow of information from the field, producing periodic monitoring reports. Provide staff time and expertise in guiding and advancing the project Sharing all achievements and project products/outputs with SAICM stakeholders Monitoring the execution of project components by the executing partners, UN Environment CHB (Component 1) and UN Environment RMB and CHB (Component 2). SAICM Secretariat will execute Component 3 directly.

Proposed Project Steering Committee (PSC) Project Steering Committee (PSC) ’s key roles SAICM Secretariat (Secretariat to PSC) Chair of the IOMC USA GEF (IA) Peru Sri Lanka Serbia Enhance synergies between the GEF project and other ongoing initiatives related to chemicals and waste South Africa Oversee the project, meeting 1-2 times a year by telecon UN Environment CHB & RMB, WHO (observers) Provide overall guidance and ensure coordination between all parties First meeting proposed for Wednesday 6 February 2019 by teleconference. Provide overall supervision for project implementation Approve the annual work plan and budget Oversee the implementation of corrective actions
