  3. Objective Provide an educational and enjoyable visit to FSU for local High School students interested in IT and/or CCI.

  4. Our Plan • Send local High Schools and Middle Schools an email invitation to visit FSU • Follow-up with schools- aiming for interest from many schools • During the Schools visit • Ice breakers (if necessary) • Take them on a guided tour • Provide informational speakers • Activity: take apart computers

Timeline September 22nd- First group meeting October 1st- Finalize and send out invitation / information to potential schools October 28th- Received RSVP from Godby High school November 1st- Deadline for schools November 4th-Group meeting to formulate itinerary November 13th- Tech day- GodbySchool visit from10:00am-1:00pm

  6. Teamwork Co-leaders: Amilyn Strayer and Zack Souza: • Created one presentation each for the IT Leadership class • Lead and planned agenda for group meetings • Kept in communication through text message • Kept in communication with the group through Facebook • Divided the schools in the area and contacted them • Used insights from the entire group to plan the Schools visit agenda • Updated the Wiki Group Members: Julie Huynh: Took pictures to document the Schools Visit Kaitlin Porter: Contacted potential guest speakers, provided soda for the lunch provided to the high school students during their visit Jamilah Walls: Contacted potential guest speakers Kaley Volkmann: Gave a guided tour through the William Johnson Building Rachel Lynn: Guided the tour through FSU campus for the visiting students Merideth Robinson: Helped with the guided tour through FSU by answering the students questions

  7. Our Results • Godby High School attended • Originally planned for 25 students to visit FSU, but the day before we were informed that there would only be 3 students coming • During the Schools visit • Ice breakers were not necessary as we were able to learn each others names quickly • FSU students were not needed as volunteers • The guided tour was personal • Ebe and Nancy stepped in as informational speakers • The activity to of taking apart computers was taken out of the agenda due to Godby’s time constraints • End Results: Success!

  8. Our Future Suggestions 1. Provide an agenda to the potential guest speakers as early as possible • Group members suggested Professor Zeigler and Casey Yu 2. Reserve a Seminole Productions tour in advanced • Group members suggested that it would interest students 3. Constant Communication • With the schools you want to attend, if possible visit the schools in person to present the idea and bring a flyer 4. Be flexible • To the possibility of cancellations, work with the school to provide them with an experience that caters to their students interests
