  1. Meeting of DT members working for LHCb April 14, 2014

  2. DT Contribution to LHCb as in APT

  3. Introduction • DT members are contributing to a variety of LHCb projects, both for the present detector and the upgrade. • Present detector (maintenance on gas-systems and magnet support not covered here) • RICH (TG, DP: HPD follow up and exchange) • Muon (BS, RK, PJAS: shielding behind M5, detector infrastructure) • Calorimeter Tech. Supp., (RK: detector movements) • FSC (RD, CJ, BS: much effort at present, should be over in late summer) • LHCb upgrade • VELO (RD) • UT (BS, JB, OJ: engineering and cooling related support) • SciFi (CJ, with some Tech. Supp. of TS and RK) • RICH (DP, TG?)) • Muon (BS, RK: shielding under HCAL (small contribution)) • TORCH (TG: not for LS2. Needs to be reconsidered)

  4. DT contribution to the upgrade • The DT contribution to the upgrade needs to be further clarified. • Ones things are sufficiently clear, a work-package should be prepared summarizing the overall contribution (similar to what has been done for the LHCb operation). • Meanwhile it is important to make best use of the available resources in terms of technical and engineering support, to ensure the required progress in the various areas where DT is contributing. • This requires: • some coordination, which will take place through the physicists in charge and regular meetings. • Some flexibility of the group members involved in LHCb
